Music is an integral part of the human experience.

Your heartbeat is just one example of how essential rhythm and tempo are to our survival, and yet opportunities to access music are only getting harder to find.

At The Musical Root we recognise music as a fundamental human requirement, and it is our mission to improve access to tuition and resources both locally and globally.

Accessibility is at the heart of what we do.

Try out Music lessons with Harriet for a personalised approach to unlock your musical potential.

Music lessons with Harriet

Harriet Leedham

Hello, my name is Harriet. I am a passionate musician and educator and over the past five years I have taught Music in the UK and internationally, exploring the cultures and countries of Kazakhstan and Romania.

I have been teaching singing and piano for the past 8 years to students that range in age from 4 to 60 + years old, with abilities ranging from total beginner to advanced levels.

Our lessons are tailored to your goals, your interests, and your own unique musical style. I provide a detailed approach to learning, incorporating technique with context, theory, expression, and performance techniques. We can work towards graded qualifications together, performance opportunities, and prepare for auditions.

Genres include: classical, musical theatre, pop, and folk.

Connection to the natural world is a fundamental human need.

The world is waking up to the importance of nature for our mental, physical, emotional, and intellectual health, and yet so many people still do not have access to wild spaces.

At The Musical Root we value our planet, and we are committed to bringing more people on our journey of exploring it, connecting with it, and finding our place in nature.

Accessibility is at the heart of what we do.
